Girl's Ministry Information

Girls Ministry Description: Girl’s ministry at Teen Central seeks to acknowledge that while the overall needs of girls have not changed; the way they react to those needs has changed. Therefore, this ministry seeks to meet these girls where they are at and to learn what it is like to live in their world. The girl’s ministry is built on Titus 3:2-5 and the command for the older women to set an example for the younger women. At Teen Central this is done by investing time into the lives of the teens who come to Teen Central. This can include simply taking a teen along to the store or taking a girl on a weekend trip. Teen Central Girl’s Ministry also includes small group discussions, bible studies, notes of encouragement, and special events.

Girl Talk: A small group discussion relating to topics girls are dealing with. Topics include: family, self image, boys, sexual issues and many more (dates and times listed below)

Girls going Deeper: a second small group discussion that looks at one topic over 10 weeks, usually based on book.

Special Events: Trips to Pinchot State Park: a day to swim and cook out, Baking Days: making Christmas Cookies and other baked goods, Making a Meal Together, Hotel Overnighters: a night on a hotel to talk, swim and hang out, and Lock-Ins (these are just a few of the special events)

Vision for Girl's Ministry: Girls would find mentors that accept them where they are who provide affirmation, acceptance, appreciation, affection, availability, and accountability. Girl Talk groups will become small group bible studies.

New: Girls News: monthly newsletter just for girls that keeps them update on Girl Talk, coming events and spotlights one of their peers.

Leader Tina  Kulp When I came to Teen Central in September 2001 I was in my last year of Bible College. However, this was not first experience with this ministry. I had been a volunteer during my second year in Bible College. That time ended unfortunately because school commitments were too much. I could not forget the teens that I meet and when I would drive through town I would look for these teens. I attend East Fairview Church of the Brethren in Manheim, and I graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2002, with a BS in Bible & Youth Ministries and Evangelical Theological Seminary with Master of Arts in Religion.  I am a licensed minster in the Church of the Brethren. God has given me a heart to reach teens and especially teen girls. I want to see the girls make wise decisions and model a lifestyle that don't often see. My vision is to see all the teens come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I am currently directing the Girl's Ministry and also direct the summer day camp program.
